Education research has determined that engagement in meaningful undergraduate research is a high impact educational practice (HIEP).  The WashU MO-LSAMP site has centered undergraduate research as a primary component of the strategy to impact STEM outcomes at the University.  While the WashU MO-LSAMP has been hosting undergraduate students, from across the Alliance, in an annual Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) during the summer, only recently has the WashU MO-LSAMP started placing undergraduates in the MOLSAMP – Research Associates Program (M-RAP), a mentored research experiences during the academic year.
